Drowning
If you want to go into business online, you will be all giddy with excitment at first (no matter how many times you’ve already done it in the past). One thing you can’t possibly anticipate—but you can count on it, because I bet it happens to everyone—is the feeling that you are being overwhelmed by bullshit. That you are simply drowning. Shit is imploding all around you,...

No time to dream
Being an entrepreneur takes its toll. You may or may not have heard of polyphasic sleep. Instead of sleeping an entire night, polyphasic sleepers sleep in shorter stretches more frequently. It seems I’ve slipped into this pattern. I work the 9-5 and when I get home, I’m beat, so I take a nap. That nap is anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Then I wake up and I’m up until 2am...

What's Tumblin'?
Well, shit, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. One cardinal rule of blogging is never apologize for not posting, so I’m not the least bit sorry. Nyah. So much crazy shit going on, amazing shit. I’m changing my business seemingly on a whim. The Republican vice-presidential nominee supposedly faked a pregnancy so that nobody would know that her daughter...

Advertising on Pandora
The success of relevant text-only ads has been proven by Google and others. And yet, when I use Pandora (a service I love) I see nothing but giant flash ads for things I don’t care about. The ads certainly don’t seem like they’re related to the music at all. Even in the cases where the ads have Pandora stations you can listen to, most of them are not the kind of music I like. ...

2 Dreams
These are two dreams I really had last night, one after the other. Each one “stars” two people of the same sex.  Dream #1  Two men are in a cave. The cave is so vast, they never touch walls or ceiling. They just keep walking, staying near each other by the sound of their voices. They are extremely scared they will never get out. They finally do emerge into the light, to a crowd of...

lucky man
I’ve been feeling stressed lately because of all the work I have to do. I started to get down about it, and then I thought… What the fuck am I down about? I’m not dead. I have a wife and a family that loves me. I have more than enough money because I’m working so much. I get to do all these cool things with blogs and computers and cool people. I don’t have any major,...

I watched SNL for the first time in a long time last night. Afterwards, a female announcer said something about going to NBC online, getting video clips and posting them to my blog. But the way she said “…and post them to your blog”  sounded weird, like she didn’t understand what she was saying. Like a guy in a suit trying to talk hip with the kids. It felt creepy.

I'm not moving to canada
I should say, rather, we’re moving to Canada. My family. We’ve been looking at various locations, but Victoria, BC looks like the place. Been doing lots of research and looking at tons of pictures. Victorial feels like it’s our new home. This is huge. I mean, how many people do you know who are just up and leaving the country? Not many, I bet. Meh… changed my mind.

An odd sight
I saw an odd sight as I drove home from work: someone has one of those aluminum balloons in the back of their car. It was a giant Winnie-the-Pooh head. The car’s windows were open enough to create a draft within the vehicle. This caused the giant Winnie-the-Pooh head to bob up and down in a way that made it look like Winnie-the-Pooh was a passenger in the back seat… and that he was...
